Mihoko has a rare eye for music: she captures the movement, the tonality, and the rhythm of jazz... with paint.
A lady asked, “What does it mean?” What, came the answer, does a Bosa Nova mean?
With her keen ear for color Mihoko creates art musicals on canvas. Inspired by the jazz she passionately loves, Mihoko celebrates with this ‘Visual Jazz’ collection in hopes that you will come to the dance.
Mihoko is a Jazz singer and a painter. Born in Tokyo, Japan. She was a student of reknowned Jazz singers Martha Miyake, Azure MaCall and Shari Lynn. She founded the Jazz Peace Concert in 2007. Introducing many talented musicians from all over the World. Her paintings are spontaneous expressions of her love for art and Jazz.
She received her formal art education in Japan and spent many years mastering traditional painting. Her abstract compositions work because of her understanding of the basics: she is free to follow her intuition and she can go where the music takes her. When her passion for jazz started to express itself through her paintings, she became a successful artist.
Mihoko has had two SOLD OUT shows in New York and is represented by a few select galleries. She has a good ear for color. Her work does not give up all of its secrets with a single look.
